Power up your organizing! O4P’s upcoming training cycle

Power-Up is O4P’s newest program, taking place across 4 sessions, starting on 18 & 20 November and concluding on 2 & 4 December. Each session lasts 2 hours and is run twice for our global audience. The registration deadline is November 10th, and registration is free and open to all groups of 10 people or more.
For veterans of the O4P community, Power-Up will feel at once familiar and fresh, focusing on the same core methods while updating the program to meet the needs of our global community and the moment we are living through. For example, Power-Up will focus more heavily on developing a plan to win, and your group should come out of the four sessions with a solid understanding of how to do this in your organizing field.
Another difference is that this program will be structured around a narrative that brings labor and community injustices together around a shared campaign. New presentations, activities, and assignments will give participants the chance to understand lessons through either labor or community lenses, alongside whatever campaign issue you bring to the program. The result will be a program that remains focused on core organizing methods from the trade union movement but provides clearer learning opportunities for groups focused on other movements for justice.
After the conclusion of Power-Up I, we will offer several follow-up programs to accompany your group’s next steps toward winning power. Individual “booster” sessions will help you dig into your next challenges, whether you’re a trade union, community group, or something else entirely. These single-session workshops will likewise serve as stepping stones to the next core O4P program, Power-Up II, scheduled to take place in May 2026.
In this new programming stream, the interplay between core programs and specialized workshops will allow you to continue to deepen and expand your organizing work, while still refreshing old skills and providing opportunities for new people to join your struggle and get skilled up!
Introduction to Structure Tests
A Power-Up Booster Session for Labor Organizations
Wednesday February 4th 2026
What do YOU need to do to get strike ready? In this single-session workshop, designed exclusively for graduates of Power-Up I and other O4P programs, we will focus on “structure tests” – the escalatory actions that leverage targets and demonstrate people power in large numbers. This booster session will be focused on examples from trade unions and related labor organizations, and will serve as a stepping stone between O4P’s Power-Up I and Power-Up II programs.
Identifying and Choosing Structures and Targets
A Power-Up Booster Session for Community & Movement Groups
Thursday March 5th 2026
Sometimes your organizing structures and targets are self-evident… and sometimes they’re not. In this workshop – designed as a complement to core O4P programming – we will work on choosing the right targets and “seeing the matrix” of structure, wherever you organize, no matter the issue. The first of a series intended to support community and movement groups who wish to engage with core O4P programming, this session will focus on climate justice.
Power-Up II
A Core O4P Training for Organizing Groups Everywhere
Tuesdays & Thursdays, 5 & 7, 19 & 21 May 2026
You’ve got a plan to win… but how do you turn that blueprint into a reality? In this four-session follow up to Power-Up I – designed exclusively for graduates of introductory O4P programs – we will focus on targets, escalation and, above all, on “structure tests” that permit you to leverage targets, demonstrate people power, and deliver on your plan to win.
Pre-register now to confirm your interest in participating in O4P booster sessions or leading a group through Power-Up II.
