Getting Ready to Power-Up!
A preparatory session
for community groups
Tuesday, October 20th
Are you joining our upcoming Power-Up training with a group that organizes outside of traditional trade union spaces?
This one-hour session will help you to prepare and ensure that you get the most of the program.
Organizing for Power uses experiences from the labor movement to teach a “structure-based” approach to organizing, in which the structure is traditionally the workplace. Over the years, thousands of people have applied these methods outside or beyond the workplace, but it does require a little extra work.
In this session, we will provide:
- an overview of the Power-Up program;
- a crash-course on identifying “structure” in your organizing work;
- best practices for adapting lessons from the program to your specific context;
- concrete examples of others who have done the same.
Whatever your organizing context, wherever you live, whatever struggle for justice you call your own: We look forward to seeing you soon, coming together as a global community, and preparing to Power-Up our organizing efforts, in November and beyond.
Date: Tuesday 20 October (following day for Asia Pacific)
Time: We are running this one-hour session twice for our global audience:
